NEC Storage Manager Express consists of Server and Client. Server is installed on a disk array. Client is Java GUI. A Windows or Linux PC or Express series connected to the disk array over a LAN is used to operate Client through a web browser. The web browser is used to access Server and shows the disk array’s configuration and status.
Commands called NEC Storage Manager Commands, which are used to provide configuration settings functions and functions to copy logical disks within an enclosure, are installed on the disk array. Users access the disk array by ssh/telnet/remote shell from a platform-independent PC or Express series to use NEC Storage Manager Commands through a command line interface.
