Radar system for illegal logging surveillance
In any kind of weather, day or night, accurate observation of a vast range of the earth’s surface is possible based on the remote sensing of the satellite-borne synthetic aperture radar that surveys the reflection of radio waves. This system assists in cracking down on illegal logging.
- Information is collected in all types of weather and at all times of day and night because the system is not affected by clouds, rainfall or smoke.
- A vast area can be observed as the system is borne on a satellite.
NEC’s space initiatives over the last 60 years have contributed to Japan’s space development and expanded use of space. We will continue to contribute to the promotion of and expanded use of “infrastructure that makes use of space” for more overseas users as well in the future.
