Akari Watanabe and Ryoya Taguchi of the Intellectual Property Portfolio Creation Department delivered a lecture at the Japan Patent Office during the Operational Patent Examination Training (OPET)
The Japan Patent Office holds the Operational Patent Examination Training (OPET), a training program geared toward developing countries, to foster examiners who will take leading roles in the intellectual property offices of their respective countries. Following the flow of the patent examination process, lectures and exercises are provided on patent examination practices, such as how to read specifications, searches for existing technology, and the determination of patentability.
During the lecture held on Friday, November 28, Akari Watanabe and Ryoya Taguchi from the Intellectual Property Portfolio Creation Department provided a brief overview of our company’s R&D and intellectual property strategies. They also communicated our perspectives as a Japanese company to intellectual property offices and patent examiners from various countries, and engaged in constructive exchange of views with them.
NEC actively collaborates with intellectual property offices across various countries to support the development of stronger intellectual property systems, and has established a global patent portfolio that it continues to expand and enhance.
