At the Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) Intellectual Property and International Standardization Strategy Committee Planning Subcommittee meeting chaired by Corporate Senior Vice President Shigeki Wada, NEC exchanged views with the Japan Patent Office regarding the deliberations at the Patent System Subcommittee of the Industrial Structure Council.
On August 29, the Keidanren Intellectual Property and International Standardization Strategy Committee Planning Subcommittee, chaired by Corporate Senior Vice President Shigeki Wada and attended by Fumio Imoto, Managing Director of the Intellectual Property Management and Rule Making/Standardization Division, was held. The subcommittee welcomed Takashi Yoshizawa, Director-General of the Policy Planning and Coordination Department of the Japan Patent Office, who explained the current discussions taking place in the Patent System Subcommittee of the Intellectual Property Committee, Industrial Structure Council. The topics included the appropriate protection of network-related inventions, ways to adapt the patent system to advances in AI technology, and initiatives for preventing intellectual property infringement. This was followed by an exchange of views with the participants.
Fumio Imoto, Managing Director of the Intellectual Property Management and Rule Making/Standardization Division, also serves on the Patent System Subcommittee of the Intellectual Property Committee, Industrial Structure Council as a representative of Keidanren.
