Mr. Fumio Imoto appointed Chairman of the Optoelectronics Industry and Technology Standardization General Committee

On June 3, Mr. Fumio Imoto, Managing Director of the Intellectual Property Management and Rule Making/Standardization Division, was appointed as Chairman of the Optoelectronics Industry and Technology Standardization General Committee during its general meeting. The committee, which operates under the Optoelectronics Industry and Technology Development Association (OITDA), is recognized as one of the leading standardization organizations in the field of optical technology.

Since its establishment in 1988, the Optoelectronics Industry and Technology Standardization Committee has led efforts to standardize a broad range of optical technologies, including fiber optics and optical disks. In recent years, the committee’s focus has expanded to include optical sensors and other technologies that help strengthen the resilience of social infrastructure.

Through its continued participation in standardization activities, NEC is committed to promoting the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, fostering a safer and more secure society, and contributing to the growth of Japan’s industry.
