In this case, a layout designer used PIStream for his PCB design of a network device and saw the following advantages:

By using PIStream, the customer was able to not only identify the appropriate capacitor location and values but also determine the plane shapes and distance between power and ground plane at the design stage.
They were able to reduce the number of iterations required by the PI issue and proceeded to mass production three weeks ahead of schedule.
Moreover, they could reduce the number of capacitors because they knew the optimal location and were thus able to reduce production costs by 40%. They also removed four layers from the original PCB design by considering the distance between power and ground plane.
Ultimately, they were able to save millions of dollars on this project.
Comparison between simulation and measurement
This is a comparison of actual measurement (bold line) and calculation by PIStream (thin line). The results of both are in good agreement.
Although there is a difference in terms of self-resonance frequency—the minimum value of the actual measurement was –20 dB ohm while that of PIStream was –35 dB ohm— this difference is less than 0.1 ohm, which is an acceptable discrepancy.
