Providing earth observation images
ASNARO-2, owned by NEC, is an earth observation satellite that uses X-band radar, and has a high resolution of less than 1m, regardless of day or night, or weather conditions. NEC can provide observation images according to various customer requests, such as monitoring natural disasters, grasping the status of cities and agricultural lands, surveying mineral resources, and observing sea ice.
ASNARO-2 was launched on January 18, 2018 with the Epsilon 3 launch vehicle. An example enabling preventive maintenance of city infrastructures including deterioration inspection of multiple roads and buildings can be seen here.
