Tokyo, May 8, 2026 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) has been named to the Dow Jones Best-in-Class World Index and the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Asia Pacific Index, two of the most prestigious global indexes of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investment.

The Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices (DJBICI) are evaluation indices developed by S&P Global that evaluate the sustainable practices of major global companies across the "Governance & Economic," "Environmental" and "Social" dimensions. Companies that receive high evaluations are selected to the DJBICI.

NEC received high evaluations in categories that included "Transparency & Reporting," "Environmental Policy & Management," "Water," "Human Capital Management," "Customer Relations" and "Privacy Protection" (*1).

NEC became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact in 2005, which was founded on the basic principles of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and seeks to minimize the burdens that business activities may have on society.
