The Robust backhaul network also plays an important role in the LTE Small Cell Solutions by ensuring rich mobile communications. NEC's Small Cell eNodeB solution can be adapted to any backhaul technology from packet microwave to carrier ether and fiber/GPON.
However, establishing a wired backhaul network usually requires significant time and resources to perform the necessary civil work and obtain approval to dig and install wires in any one area. Of the available backhaul options, NEC strongly recommends the all-outdoor radio solution (AOR), where the all-outdoor, all-in-one design PASOLINK Packet Microwave backhaul node(s) interwork with the all-in-one Small Cell eNodeB. Both can be easily installed for a simple, fast rollout of an end-to-end network.
AOR is especially important for the deployment of All-in-one Small Cell eNodeBs. For example, if All-in-one eNodeBs can be easily installed on city lamp posts, then it should be feasible to install the backhaul there as well. AOR facilitates an ultra-compact, all-outdoor deployment of PASOLINK and all-in-one Small Cell eNodeBs. By exploiting the maximum advantage of LTE Small Cells in this way, we can ensure a faster network launch for our customers. Additional benefits for LTE service providers include: comprehensive quality of end-to-end service, secured across the different network segments from the eNodeB to the backhaul and EPC. The Unified Network Management System and zero touch features add further value by significantly reducing operating and maintenance costs.
