Rechargeable Batteries

With the enactment of the Law for the Promotion of Effective Utilization of Resources on April 1, 2001, manufacturers producing or using small rechargeable batteries became obliged to collect and recycle them. NEC subsequently became a member of the Battery Association of Japan's Small Rechargeable Battery Recycling Promotion Center. We collect small rechargeable batteries using the collection system operated by the center.
The collection method is shown below.

Target products

  • Sealed alkali rechargeable batteries
    Nickel cadmium batteries (Ni-Cd)
    Nickel hydrogen batteries (Ni-MH)
  • Lithium batteries
    Lithium ion batteries (Li-ion)
  • Sealed lead storage batteries
Small sealed lead storage batteries (Pb)
[Batteries with an electric capacity of 234 k Coulomb or less (65 Ah or less)]
