Legal Compliance Audits
FY 2011
NEC carries out legal compliance audits that comprehensively check matters pertaining to environmental laws, ordinances, and regulations including the Basic Environment Law, prefectural and municipal ordinances, and pollution control agreements. Legal compliance auditing started in FY 2000, with audits performed once every three years at all plants and NEC Group manufacturing companies. The audits performed in FY 2011 marked the third or fourth time legal compliance audits had been performed.
Omissions of and deviations from laws and regulations have been eliminated almost entirely thanks to corrective actions taken as a result of audits in the past. In the current fiscal year, too, only minor incidents have been reported mainly related to the Industrial Safety and Health Law and voluntary periodical checks of facilities. No deficiencies leading to serious environmental pollution or labor accidents were found.
We have created a plan to correct these problems and are keeping a close eye on the progress of corrective actions.
