In the NEC Group, in order to gain public trust, NEC Tohoku acquired BS7750 (British environmental management system standards) certification in 1995, and the acquisition of ISO 14001 international standards certification by the NEC Sagamihara Plant in 1997 led to separate certifications at all business locations and research centers, and all of these sites, including the NEC Headquarters, integrated their certifications in 1999, registrations were expanded to all sales locations in Japan in 2002 with certifications networking all departments being acquired.
The NEC Group also modified its environment management system to the entire business system and is revising its certification registrations in 2003.
NEC is utilizing "NetAudit" for its audit. "Alternative audits" are also being introduced for assessments of subsidiaries for conducting effective assessments.
The following are ISO assessment results at NEC (business units, laboratories, plants, branches and branch offices, headquarters, etc.) and 14 manufacturing subsidiaries and 19 software and service subsidiaries in FY 2011.
There was the opportunity for improvement existed in 4 cases, 17 cases and 25 cases respectively.
These are being immediately rectified.
