The Fuchu plant of NEC and the NEC Tokyo Data Center, the target facilities of the Tokyo Metropolitan Environmental Security Ordinance, obtained more than 70 points in an overall assessment by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and received certification as quasi-top-level business establishments. This assessment was made in recognition of the maintenance of a CO₂ emission reduction scheme, steady investments in energy-saving facilities, and thoroughness in energy-saving operation. (Both the Fuchu plant of NEC and the NEC Tokyo Data Center obtained this status in FY 2012.) The plant and center are committed to continue promoting energy-saving measures through the utilization of ICT and through other means.

Business establishment that is recognized as significantly excellent in its degree of anti-global warming measures implemented → Approved as a top-level business establishment (Obligatory reduction rate decreased to 1/2)
Business establishment that is recognized as especially excellent in its degree of anti-global warming measures implemented → Approved as a quasi-top-level business establishment (Obligatory reduction rate decreased to 3/4)
