CO₂ emissions (absolute value) resulting from energy use in FY 2012 totaled 410,000 tons, a reduction of 13% compared with the previous fiscal year achieved through withdrawal from the electric parts business and the implementation of energy- and power-saving measures .
The CO2 emitted per unit of actual sales, at an 18% reduction compared to the previous fiscal year and a 85% reduction compared to fiscal year 1990 levels, stood at 4.70 tons per 100 million yen, thus achieving the target value of a 35% decrease from FY 1990 levels set by the four major electrical and electronics business organizations.
(Note) The CO2 emissions conversion factor based on energy usage in FY 2012 was calculated with CO2 emissions factors for the electric power industry in accordance with the Act on Promotion of Global Warming Countermeasures.
