The NEC Group participates in the Challenge 25% Campaign, a government-promoted activity to combat global warming.
The activity is undertaken mainly in Environment Months (June and November) and in Energy Conservation Month (February).
"COOLBIZ" in offices
Implementation period: May 16 to October 31, 2011
The office air-conditioning temperature for cooling is set at 28°C as a guide, and employees wear casual clothes in the office, including conference rooms, as a general rule.
NEC also put up a standing sign at the entrance reading "COOLBIZ IN FORCE" which also let out customers know about it. Employees were fully familiarized through in-house HP and general notices.
"WARMBIZ" in offices
Implementation period: November 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012
The office air-conditioning temperature for heating is set at 19°C as a guide, and attire that is easy to work in and is warm without depending excessively on heating is recommended.
The stores in NEC Group companies have conducted an "Ecology at the Cash Register" campaign for conserving environment and reducing plastic bags. This campaign also encourages employees' environmental awareness.
