Diffusion of renewable energies through energy storage systems

Contributing to the spread of renewable energies through the provision of energy storage systems

Along with the explosive spread of renewable energies such as solar power generation, energy storage systems linked to electricity grids or solar power generation are expected to increase, contributing to power-saving and curbing power generation during peak daytime hours by storing night power.

Having developed the lithium-ion storage battery since the 1990s, NEC possesses an advanced technology and know-how that is being utilized in a variety of scenarios, from use in cellphones, electric-assist bicycles, household energy storage systems and electric cars, to application in megawatt-type schemes linked to power systems. NEC’s energy storage systems are also equipped with a cloud-type energy management function. They are being connected to power system grids, solar cells and fuel cells to promote the spread of renewable energies.
