NEC announces organizational changes

TOKYO, January 30, 2025 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced organizational changes effective April 1, 2025, with the aim of achieving the Mid-term Management Plan 2025 and realizing sustainable growth. The main changes are as follows.

1. Strengthening ability to respond to the growing demand for digital transformation (DX) in government and healthcare

NEC will consolidate the Cross-Industry Business Unit (BU) and Global Innovation BU's businesses related to government and healthcare (such as urban infrastructure, firefighting and disaster prevention, and smart city businesses) into the Public Solutions BU, which is responsible for businesses for governments, public offices, and local governments.

By concentrating and sharing domain knowledge and resources, NEC will steadily seize business opportunities in the expanding fields of government DX and medical DX, and work to grow each business.

2. Strengthening the value provision system centered on BluStellar

NEC will reorganize its Digital Platform BU, establishing a new Digital Platform Services BU to handle product and service businesses centered on BluStellar, and a new Digital Delivery Services BU to handle consulting and system integration (SI) service delivery.

The Digital Platform Services BU will accelerate the creation of more attractive products and services. The Digital Delivery Services BU will aim to further expand DX businesses by promoting the rapid and efficient provision of systems, products, and services across the NEC Group as a whole.

3. Establishing a national security business structure, including economic security

NEC has established a Cyber Security Division within the corporate organization to oversee cyber security-related businesses and functions across the NEC Group, and will also strengthen its ability to make proposals to customers through the development of security personnel and the use of cutting-edge technologies.

In addition, a new organization will be established within the Aerospace and National Security BU, which is responsible for aerospace and defense business, that will work closely with the Cyber Security Division, and the Submarine Network Division, which develops and provides submarine cable systems, will be transferred from the Telecom Services BU to the Aerospace and National Security BU.

NEC will contribute to safety and security by establishing a system that provides submarine cables, which are one of the key infrastructure components for economic security, and cyber security services for the governments and customers who are responsible for key infrastructure, under one management.
