NEC announces executive personnel changes

TOKYO, April 1, 2024 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced executive personnel changes that will become effective as of May 1, 2024.

Noboru Nakatani joined the National Police Agency of Japan in 1993, and after serving as Senior Assistant Director of the Cybercrime Division of the National Police Agency, he was appointed as Director of Information Systems and Technology and Chief Information Security Officer at INTERPOL’s General Secretariat headquarters in 2008. Furthermore, he became the first Executive Director of the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation in 2012, where he led global investigative support and promotion of public-private partnerships related to cybercrime countermeasures. After retiring from the National Police Agency in 2019, he served as Chief Trust and Safety Officer at a private company. He is one of Japan's leading cyber security experts with extensive work experience in both the public and private sectors.

As Chief Security Officer, he will be responsible for further strengthening the cyber security functions of the entire NEC Group. In addition, as president of NEC Security, Ltd., he will be responsible for expanding the business to support governments, critical infrastructure and enterprises in their cyberattack countermeasures by providing solutions utilizing cutting-edge cyber security technologies.
