Tokyo, October 24, 2017 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced the sales launch of a security risk management service to provide vulnerability management utilizing the company's security intelligence (vulnerability information), and a security anomaly detection service against unknown cyber attacks utilizing its original artificial intelligence (AI).

The new security risk management service includes the NEC Cyber Security Platform, a vulnerability management system adopted by approximately 180,000 PCs and servers throughout the NEC Group, as a cloud service. Since the management servers for the NEC Cyber Security Platform are provided over the cloud, it is possible to lower the deployment costs and accelerate the launching time for services.

The security anomaly detection service features Automated Security Intelligence (ASI), which was developed as part of NEC's most advanced AI technology series "NEC the WISE" at the company's R&D laboratories in North America, and provides it as a cloud service.

This service improves the identification of unknown cyber attacks in networked systems, visualizes the invasion routes, estimates the range of impact, and supports a fast response from specialized Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRT). These capabilities reduce the time required for CSIRT operations by approximately 99% when compared to conventional manual analysis of logs.
