Fumiyuki Nihey

Doctor of Philosophy
Fumiyuki Nihey received his M.S. (1987) and Ph.D. (1996) in physics from Osaka University, Japan. In 1987, he joined the Central Research Laboratories of NEC Corporation, where he engaged in fundamental research in microelectronics and nanotechnology. In 2020, he joined a research group focusing on healthcare technologies based on gait analysis.
His current research interests include proteome informatics, with a particular focus on data-driven analysis of large-scale omics data for disease understanding and biomarker discovery, as well as biomechanical analysis of gait and its applications to daily healthcare and activity monitoring of the elderly using foot motion sensors. He is a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics.
