NEC Awarded "Silver Class" and "Industry Mover" recognition in the RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook 2016
Tokyo, Japan, March 2, 2016 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced it has been awarded "Silver Class" (*1) recognition in the RobecoSAM (*2) Sustainability Yearbook 2016, where companies are awarded based on their activities for promoting sustainability. At the same time, NEC has been recognized as an "Industry Mover" for placing within 15% of the "Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics" segment leader and achieving the largest proportional improvement in its sustainability performance compared to the previous year. NEC will continue to promote CSR activities that contribute to the achievement of sustainable growth for society.
RobecoSAM evaluates more than 3,000 leading global companies each year based on economic, environmental and social considerations in order to recognize companies across a wide range of industries that have achieved excellence in sustainability.
As a member of the Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics segment, NEC received high evaluations for its activities in the "Brand Management," "Climate Strategy," "Environmental Policy/Management System" and "Human Capital Development" categories, leading to the "Silver Class" and "Industry Mover" awards.
