NEC launches global ERP template supporting SAP® S/4HANA

*** For immediate use June 4, 2015

Tokyo, June 4, 2015 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) today announced the launch of the "NEC multi-country model," a global ERP template supporting SAP's SAP®S/4HANA. By utilizing this template, it is possible to shorten the period of time needed to deploy SAP S/4HANA by up to 50%.

SAP S/4HANA is SAP's latest application software suite, featuring a range of functions that include accounting abilities through "SAP®Simple Finance."

The NEC Multi-country model enables global corporations to manage business data from subsidiaries spanning multiple countries, and to flexibly grasp and analyze the condition of their corporate group as a whole. The model also supports SAP Fiori®, enabling user-friendly analysis through intuitive user interfaces and the visualization of numerical data needed to understand business conditions at a single glance.

The NEC Multi-Country model supports the tax systems and business practices of 15 countries and regions (*). It is also equipped to handle standard operating processes for the automotive parts, assembly/manufacturing and processing industries. Based on the knowhow gained from utilizing SAP®ERP to renew its own mission-critical systems, NEC has established its own unique global installation and deployment methodology. With this methodology, corporations can complete deployments of SAP S/4HANA in a shorter period of time.

"NEC is progressively upgrading and expanding NEC Global Enterprise Solutions, its lineup of solutions and services offered globally to enterprise customers in retail, distribution, manufacturing and other fields. The launch of the NEC Multi-country model is an important part of that initiative. Going forward, NEC will continue to provide solutions and services contributing to the growth of its customers' businesses," said Yutaka Noguchi, general manager, Global Products and Services Development Division, NEC Corporation.

"We welcome NEC's launch of an SAP S/4HANA compatible global ERP template. S/4HANA makes complex data structure overwhelmingly simple, and supports the sophistication of our customers' accounting processes," said Yuzuru Fukuda, President, SAP Japan Co., Ltd. "NEC has worked in cooperation with the SAP HANA developers at SAP headquarters to achieve the fastest possible evaluation, development, expansion and improvement of a variety of products and solutions. I firmly believe that we can continue making use of our global project experience and working together to contribute to the innovation of our customers."
