Movie script
Takayuki Morita
President and CEO of NEC Corporation:
Hello everyone.
This is Takayuki Morita, President and CEO of NEC Corporation.
As we all know, the world is constantly changing, and we are now in an era of dramatic change.
This includes the end of COVID restrictions, divisions in the international community, growing threats in cyberspace, and business transformation from technological innovations, such as generative AI.
But what happens if we stand still and bow down in the face of these changes?
If we are unable to adapt to change, we are left behind as the world moves on.
The NEC Group's Purpose is to create the social values of safety, security, fairness and efficiency in order to promote a more sustainable world where everyone has the chance to reach their full potential.
Based on this Purpose, NEC takes the initiative to master technologies that stand tall in these changing times, and this enables us to pass on the value of our knowledge to many others.
Together, we contribute to society, share pride in the results, and aim to create value for the future.
NEC is committed to being a meaningful presence and to maintaining this cycle with everyone
In particular, we aim to contribute to the advancement of digital transformation, or DX.
At NEC, we promote three types of DX: Internal DX, Customer DX, and Social DX.
Please allow me to introduce some examples.
First, the world's most accurate biometric authentication technology, such as facial recognition and digital IDs that reliably prove "who is who."
These enable us to safely and securely enjoy a wide range of conveniences across fields that include finance, transportation and government.
Next, artificial intelligence, or AI, where NEC boasts world-class research achievements.
In addition to emerging technologies, such as generative AI, we are researching and developing numerous AI solutions that can be applied with confidence.
And now, cybersecurity.
In a time when sensitive data is being created everywhere, there is a limit to what can be done at a local level.
Therefore, NEC's cyber security solutions are based on data obtained from entire systems, and these solutions are implemented by specialists who are invested in the well-being of our communities.
And as "Client Zero," NEC makes proud use of these technologies for its own in-house DX, enabling us to deliver them to society with confidence based on our experience and know-how.
The NEC Group works as one, with the services and technologies I have mentioned today, as well as the employees who deliver them, to contribute to the DX of our customers and society.
Technology needs to be carefully applied with high ethical standards and integrity.
NEC has articulated this belief into the words "Truly Open, Truly Trusted."
With an open corporate stance, we will transform technology into social value as a leading global tech company, and we will continue to evolve with the aim of creating a world where benefits can be attained by everyone.
You'll be seeing good things from the NEC Group
