Tokyo, May 28, 2012 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) announced today the completion of IP Migration Professional Support Services for the enhancement of their IP based Mobile Access Network for PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata; IDX: EXCL), one of Indonesia's leading mobile operators.
In recent years, mobile network operators have been facing the challenge of migrating their mobile access networks from legacy telecommunication transmission technologies, such as Asynchronous Transmission Mode (ATM) and Synchronous Transmission Mode (STM), to world Internet standard IP based technologies. "NEC, as one of the World's leading telecom and broadband network infrastructure suppliers, has expertise in mobile applications that include advanced mobile services such as Carrier Cloud and M2M, as well as mobile access networks and transmission networks," said Nobuyuki Yanaginuma, Associate Senior Vice President, NEC Corporation. "NEC has deployed mobile access network IP Migration Professional Support Services for mobile operators worldwide and we are proud to provide services for XL Axiata in Indonesia."
"In addition to NEC's experience, technical expertise and project management skill in IP Migration Professional Support services, they also have a close understanding of our mobile access network as a major supplier of our microwave transmission equipment," said Ms. Dian Siswarini, Chief Technology, Content and New Business Officer, XL Axiata.
