Development Environment
WebOTX provides many tools for developing application and a comprehensive development environment.
Integrated development environment: WebOTX Developer's Studio
WebOTX provides WebOTX Developer's Studio, an integrated development environment that provides high productivity and maintainability and is based on the Java development environment Eclipse.
NEC's independently developed Java EE supporting application development features (Web applications, Web services, EJBs, OLF/TP adapters (JCA), SIP servlets, etc.) and SOA application development features (BPEL, ESB, and XML mapping) enable in reducing the development time, increasing the productivity and leading to efficient development.

Because this integrated development environment is based on Eclipse, which is the most familiar and widely used Java development environment, it is easy to start development. In addition, development is efficient because features such as source editing, CVS-based version control, and JUnit-based testing are provided as standard development tools.
A test server environment equivalent to WebOTX Application Server Express is bundled with WebOTX Developer's Studio, thereby making it possible to develop, debug, and test applications just by purchasing WebOTX Developer.
In addition, integrated administration tools can be plugged in to WebOTX Developer's Studio. This makes it possible to perform the entire series of development procedures, including developing an application in Eclipse, running the application on a test server environment, and using administration tools to check performance and operation data, from within Eclipse single-pane.
Relationship with SystemDirector Enterprise
SystemDirector Enterprise (SDE) is a combination of a development methodology, development infrastructure, and support service that is used for setting up systems with open technology. This is based on SI know-how cultivated by the NEC group. WebOTX Developer functions are included in SDE.
When setting up a system, the tools provided by SDE are used to define the requirements and create the internal design. In contrast, WebOTX Developer provides "low level development tools and a test execution environment" which covers the processes from manufacturing to testing.
