NEC started its broadcast operation in 1924, by introducing a 500W medium-wave transmitter from Western Electric Company.

In 1931, NEC manufactured its first exclusively made in Japan short-wave radio and middle-wave transmitters and in 1956, Band I/III TV transmitters.

Later, in 1984, NEC developed a full solid-state UHF TV Transmitter composed of original transistor amplifier circuits and in 1997, supplied the first digital terrestrial TV transmitter to Europe.

As of today, NEC has supplied over 10,000 TV transmitters to more than 100 countries around the globe. With nearly 100 years of experience in the broadcast field, NEC is known worldwide as one of the leading/pioneer manufacturer of TV transmitters. NEC commits to keep up its present position by meeting customers' demands for high performance, high reliability and high stability.
