Introduction
This time, let us explain Cluster WebUI, EXPRESSCLUSTER’s management tool. Cluster WebUI is available on EXPRESSCLUSTER X 4.0 and later.
* EXPRESSCLUSTER X WebManager and EXPRESSCLUSTER X Builder are available before EXPRESSCLUSTER X 3.3.

What’s Cluster WebUI
In the cluster system, you may need to check the cluster status, operate the cluster, and check cluster operation logs for system operation management. EXPRESSCLUSTER provides Cluster WebUI that allows you to do these intuitively on a web browser as GUI. Cluster WebUI does not require to construct any special environment, and can be used with standard functions of general browsers*.
* For more information about browser compatibility, please refer to Sysrtem Requirements as below.
System Requirements - EXPRESSCLUSTER X for Windows
System Requirements - EXPRESSCLUSTER X for Linux
Key Features of Cluster WebUI
Cluster WebUI mainly has three features.
Check and Operate Cluster Status
Dashboard
You can check from Dashboard tab of Cluster WebUI to see whether the cluster system is working normally and what happens if there is warnings or abnormalities. In addition, this dashboard is linked with our reference guide, and you can click the event ID and immediately access the relevant description in the reference guide. In the reference guide accessible from the event ID, you can find documentation-equivalent instructions and how to deal with messages. It will help you deal with as soon as possible*.
* The linkage with the reference guide is available from EXPRESSCLUSTER X 4.3 and later.
Status
On Status tab of Cluster WebUI, you can check the status of servers and resources in the cluster, and start and stop them. For example, you will use this in a case to shut down or restart servers during maintenance.
Config Cluster
EXPRESSCLUSTER calls data of cluster components, such as the servers and resources, "Custer configuration information". Cluster WebUI allows you to create and change cluster configuration information.
In addition, Cluster WebUI enables you to import and export cluster configuration information, so you can set up your cluster efficiently. For example, by exporting configuration information from a cluster that has already been built and importing it in the Cluster WebUI of other clusters. it will save you the bother of setting.
* This Configuration function is available from EXPRESSCLUSTER X 4.1 and later.
Check Cluster Activity Logs
EXPRESSCLUSTER enables you to check the log "when", "in which server module", and "what happened". For example, it can be used as one of the information for investigating the cause in the event of a failure. Logs can be filtered by alert log type, date and time, so you can quickly check information only you need then.
EXPRESSCLUSTER logs can also be collected from Cluster WebUI and saved as compressed files. For more information about Collecting logs, please refer to the reference guide as below.
For more information of the script for forced stop, refer to the Reference Guide.
- EXPRESSCLUSTER X 4.3 > Windows > Reference Guide
- → 8 EXPRESSCLUSTER command reference
- → 8.8 Collecting logs (clplogcc command)
- EXPRESSCLUSTER X 4.3 > Linux > Reference Guide
- → 8 EXPRESSCLUSTER command reference
- → 8.8 Collecting logs (clplogcc command)
Useful Features of Cluster WebUI
Check the Configuration File
Cluster WebUI has a function “Check the Configuration File”. This allows you to check easily whether cluster configuration information matches hardware and OS configuration. And it also enables you to check whether the configuration is recommended by EXPRESSCLUSTER. If any items which do not pass the check, FAIL is showed in Result summary, and how you need to correct it is showed in each result.
* Check the Configuration File function is available from EXPRESSCLUSTER X 4.2 and later.
Online Manual
EXPRESSCLUSTER provides Online manual that can be viewed anytime from the button at the top right of the Cluster WebUI. You do not need to visit our manual page on EXPRESSCLUSTER website or save the manual.
Cluster WebUI Offline
Even in environments where you cannot connect directly to the servers of cluster components, Cluster WebUI Offline enables you to create and edit cluster configuration information. For example, after you create cluster configuration information on a local machine, Cluster WebUI Offline enables you to reflect it on a server in a production environment.
To use Cluster WebUI Offline, you need to download the module. For more information, please visit NEC Support Portal.
Conclusion
This time, we learned EXPRESSCLUSTER's function "Cluster WebUI".
If you consider introducing the configuration described in this article, you can perform a validation with the trial module of EXPRESSCLUSTER. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
