NEC and ENERGY STAR
Overview
ENERGY STAR® is an international voluntary labeling program led by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to improve the environment through identifying and promoting energy efficient products and practices. In addition to computers and monitors which were first to be labeled, EPA released a specification for servers on May 15th, 2009. It now covers enterprise servers of 4 processor sockets or less, and is eventually expected to expand its coverage to include blade servers and a wider range of servers. As a leading provider of superior servers with award-winning energy saving technology, NEC will continue to strive to deliver servers with even greater levels of performance and energy efficiency which meet or exceed the latest ENERGY STAR guidelines to help our customers go green.
