Rental expense for the years ended March 31, 1993, 1994 and 1995 aggregated approximately 112,312 million yen, 123,975 million yen and 122,058 million yen ($1,402,966 thousand), respectively. A significant portion of such rentals relates to cancelable short-term leases, many of which are renewed upon expiration.
