The Intellectual Property Management Division is focused on developing intellectual property in growth businesses and advanced technologies to successfully implement the Mid-term Management Plan and achieve the envisioned future. Furthermore, we are utilizing our intellectual property to promote the social integration and co-creation of new technologies and businesses that contribute to realizing this vision.

We strategically allocate resources to intellectual property within key growth sectors outlined in our Mid-Term Management Plan 2025, as well as in technological fields that are poised to be pillars of future growth. Since 2001, NEC has ranked first in the world in the total number of international patent applications filed in our key business sectors of biometrics, video analytics, and advanced AI technologies.
