In February and March 2026, members of the NEC Pro Bono Club planned the curriculum for "Personal Lab," an inquiry-based learning program run by Hiratsuka Secondary School in Kanagawa Prefecture.
Leveraging the perspectives and frameworks that NEC has developed thus far to address social issues, the support team selected themes such as digital society, regional revitalization, the future of urban development, and agriculture. In addition to drafting a project proposal for empowering high school students to actively engage with society, raise their own questions, and develop the ability to create value, the support team designed a curriculum comprising eight lessons. Despite the difficulty of collaborating outside class, this program was designed to give students the leeway to delve deeper into their own inquiries to create real-world learning opportunities.
Going forward, classes will be held based on this curriculum plan, providing every student with the opportunity to rethink their relationship with society and develop the ability to create new value.
