NEC contributes to local communities through culture, arts and sports as a good corporate citizen.
Culture and Arts
NEC Charity Concerts
NEC holds a home-made charity concert once a year that NEC employees are involved in planning and operation, and the "NEC Tamagawa Brass Band" that is made up of NEC Group employees performs at the concert. NPOs involved aggressively in solving social problems are chosen to receive the funds.
NEC Community Concerts
NEC holds concerts throughout Japan so that everyone can enjoy real classical music performed by local professionals. We support community-based orchestras throughout Japan. (Activity is currently suspended.)
NEC Bridge Festival
"Bridge", played by four players in two competing partnerships, has been "a part of socializing" for a long time in Europe and the United States, and today it is an official sports competition recognized by the International Olympic Committee. In order to popularize bridge in Japan and encourage international cultural exchanges, NEC had supported an international tournament, the only one held by the Japan Contract Bridge League in Japan, for 21 years since 1996.

NEC Para-Sports Support Project
We help realize a "universal society" where people can live securely as one of its members regardless of age, gender, nationality or disability by utilizing our experience in supporting wheelchair tennis for over 20 years.
NEC Wheelchair Tennis
NEC has served as the sponsor for the Wheelchair Tennis Tour organized by the International Tennis Federation for over 20 years in order to promote sports for those with disabilities.
Contribution Activities through Sports (Japanese)
The female volleyball team "NEC Red Rockets" is recognized as the "Kawasaki Sports Partner"by Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture where the team is based, holds "Volleyball Classes" for junior high school students in Kawasaki City, and a volleyball class for approximately 250 elementary and junior high school students in Inawashiro Town, Fukushima Prefecture in 2013. Moreover, the male rugby team "NEC Green Rockets" conducts commuting road cleanup activities in Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture where the team is based, and works to popularize rugby through the participation in Great East Japan Earthquake reconstruction support charity events and rugby classes for children.
