
As “home networking” becomes reality, service providers are faced with numerous
and critically important technical issues surrounding broadband service delivery.
Broadband Unleashed PART II addresses how equipment manufacturers and software
companies are addressing the technical issues and requirements of service providers,
in order to support their vision of the home networking experience. Panelists
will include executives from leading equipment vendors and software manufacturers
who will offer their perspective on the technology considerations and the opportunities
that must be addressed for the delivery of new and profitable broadband services.

Dr. Milorad Cvijetic currently serves as the Vice President and Chief Technology
Strategist for NEC Corporation of America, Optical Network Systems Division,
in Herndon Virginia. He received his Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering in 1984,
while joined NEC in 1997. Previously he has been with Bell Northern Research
– BNR (later NORTEL Technologies) in Ottawa, Canada.
Dr. Cvijetic published more than 70 technical papers and three books titled "Digital Optical Communications", "Coherent and Nonlinear Lightwave Communications", and "Optical Transmission Systems Engineering." He has taken part in numerous technical conferences and symposiums, in some
as a conference/session chairman, technical committee member, or invited speaker.
He frequently speaks at the industry events to outline NEC position and leadership
with respect to Next Generation Networks in general, and optical networking
in particular.
