NEC's Basic Media Gateway provides connectivity between NEC's telephony system and PSTN network and Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007. By integrating NEC's high quality and robust IP telephony system, such as UNIVERGE SV7000, with Microsoft's unified communication system, NEC helps the enterprise customers deploy unified communications smoothly while assuring security, operational performance and reliability.
By connecting Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007 with the existing PBX in a co-existence scenario, NEC's Basic Media Gateway enables customers extend their business communication to instant messaging, presence, conferencing and more beyond the existing voice infrastructure. NEC's Basic Media Gateway assures high quality and reliable enterprise telephony features integrated with the Microsoft's streamline unified communication making the best use of both systems.
NEC's Basic Media Gateway supports a smooth migration to unified communication environment and integration of existing devices. It allows customers to deploy unified communication in a incremental manner.
For example, customers can introduce unified communication to smaller groups or teams within the organization by deploying Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007 and NEC's Basic Media Gateway to the existing NEC's telephony environment to get a feel for the return on investment, and then roll out the service company-wide to gain even more cost savings and productivity benefits. The co-existence scenario of Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007 with the existing PBX allows calls be made between users who are on the PBX system and users who are the endpoints of Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007 within the same organization. There is no need for users to change the terminal devices and phone numbers. The co-existence scenario also suits for users intends to fully deploy unified communication while maintaining rich and familiar voice features. NEC offers customers with solutions to minimize the deployment cost and to maximize the benefits of integration of telephony and unified communication.
