Notes on using Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)

Background information

Microsoft released Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) on September 2nd, 2004. Calling itself "Windows XP SP2 with enhanced security functions," the security function was greatly enhanced, and for instance, the Windows Firewall function is enabled as the default setting.

If you plan to use this Windows XP SP2 on your PC operating with NEC Storage software products, please first read the notes listed below.

Notes

  1. A Windows Security Alert dialog appears when using NEC Storage software.
  2. Connection is cancelled when the Windows Firewall settings are changed after a TCP/IP connection is established between iSM clients and a server.
