NAS gateway model NV7200G for a SAN/NAS integrated environment

NV7200G NAS, which allows easy settings and management, has been attracting the attention of companies. How NEC's NAS products "the NV series" can simultaneously contribute to the reduction of companies' operational costs and improvement of availability is as described previously.
In this section, I will introduce the NAS gateway model "NEC Storage NV7200G" that has inherited the high-performance and high-availability of the NV series.

Part of the capacity of SAN products of the NEC Storage S series can be used as NAS

By connecting NV7200G to S series products to realize a SAN/NAS integrated environment, it becomes possible to use a part of SAN disk capacity as NAS. This will then allow the use of sophisticated functions of the S series products such as RAID-6 with enhanced availability and the storage pool function which enables flexible capacity expansion. Also, the creation of a high-performance file sharing system becomes possible, which cannot be done by SAN by itself.

SAN/NAS integrated backup

By making the replication control function (NEC Storage ReplicationControl on Windows) and NEC Storage DynamicDataReplication work together, it is possible to create backups without imposing any loads on NAS. Since backups are made from a replication of the master volume, it is possible to create backups of data that will have no impact on operation, are always the latest, and have guaranteed consistency.

Secondary data use-disaster recovery

Remote batch operations are made possible by making NAS and NEC Storage RemoteDataReplication work together. Storing a replication of a master volume in a remote location will allow full-scale preparation for disasters.
