[How to Update]
  1. Make driver disk from EXPRESSBUILDER(DVD).
  2. Boot from Installation CD/DVD media and 'boot:' is displayed, type and enter following strings.
    x86 system linux dd usb-handoff apic=bigsmp
    x86_64 system linux dd usb-handoff

x86_64 system needs largesmp kernel. If it is not installed, do as follows.
  1. Install largesmp kernel from install DVD or CD2.
    # mount /media/cdrom
    # rpm -ivh /media/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS/kernel-largesmp-2.6.9-78.EL.x86_64.rpm
    # eject
  2. Update drivers from EXPRESSBUILDER
    # mount /media/cdrom
    # cd /media/cdrom/010/lnx/os/RHAS4_EM64T/driver/
    # tar -C / -zxvf e1000/e1000_2.6.9-78.ELlargesmp.x86_64.tar.gz
    # tar -C / -zxvf igb/igb_2.6.9-78.ELlargesmp.x86_64.tar.gz
    # tar -C / -zxvf megaraid_sas/megaraid_sas_2.6.9-78.ELlargesmp.x86_64.tar.gz
    # cd
    # eject
  3. Make initrd.img.
    # depmod -a -F /boot/System.map-2.6.9-78.ELlargesmp 2.6.9-78.ELlargesmp
    # mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.9-78.ELlargesmp.img 2.6.9-78.ELlargesmp
  4. Edit /boot/grub/grub.conf and set 'default=0'.
  5. Reboot the system.

Disable EDAC modules. EDAC module will prevent hardware from collecting IPMI logs which is necessary for hardware support.
  1. Add following sentences to /etc/modprobe.conf.
    install *_edac /bin/true
    install edac_* /bin/true
  2. Restart the Operation System.
  3. Check that string "edac" is not shown in the result of lsmod.
