Updating drivers is recommended lest some slight problems should occur (following table).
Driver Current Updated Fixed problem stex 3.04.07rh 4.6.0102.28 - A logical drive which dose not exist can be added.
- I/O error may occur during system reseting.
The following KMP driver version will be kept during kernel updating.(*2)NECESSARY
- Extract this file and change to following directory.
# cd RHEL5_x86/driver ( if x86 system )
# cd RHEL5_EM64T/driver ( if x86_64 system )
- Install KMP package.
In case Kernel version is 2.6.18-164.el5
# rpm -ivh --nosignature stex/kmod-stex-4.6.0000.28-1.*.rpm

# rpm -ivh --nosignature */*-xen-*.rpm
- Install KMP common packages.
# rpm -ivh --nosignature */*noarch.rpm
- Restart the Operation System.
Disable EDAC modules. EDAC module will prevent hardware from collecting IPMI logs which is necessary for hardware support.
- Add following sentences to /etc/modprobe.conf.
install *_edac /bin/true
install edac_* /bin/true
- Restart the Operation System.
- Check that string "edac" is not shown in the result of lsmod.
