1. Applicable models

Express5800/120Lg : N8100-865F,866F,866G,899F,899G, 961F,962F,970F,970G

SDR revision is as follows by composition.

    • PS/2 PSU model, Standard FAN [00.07]
    • PS/2 PSU model, Redundant FAN [00.07f]
    • Redundant PSU model, Standard FAN [00.07g]
    • Redundant PSU model, Redundant FAN [00.07h]
    • 3.2G Processor/Redundant PSU model, Standard FAN [00.07m]
    • 3.2G Processor/Redundant PSU model, Redundant FAN [00.07n]

* If SDR Revision is not as above, setup SDR by using attached "SDR Setup FD".


2. SDR setup procedures

(1)  Power on the machine.

(2)  When the following message appears, press the F2 key to start the BIOS 
     SETUP Menu. "Press <F2> to enter SETUP"

(3)  Using the arrow keys, move the cursor to [Server] and select the [System 
     Management] sub menu and press the Enter key. The software version of your
     system will be displayed.

(4)  Confirm current SDR Revision. If SDR Revision is displayed as shown in 
     "1.applicable models", next operation is unnecessary. Please finish BIOS 
     SETUP screen and end procedure.

(5)  Insert the "SDR setup FD" floppy disk into the floppy disk drive of the 
     server.

(6)  <ESC> key is pushed twice and "Yes" is chosen. The sever boots from 
     FD and the following menu appears.

     FAN Configuration Setup.

               1: Update SDR [Single Fan]
               2: Update SDR [Redundant Fans]
               A:¥>


(7)  If standard fan is installed, press 1<Enter>. If redundant fans are 
     installed, press 2<Enter>.
     This stepping processing takes approximately 4 to 5 minutes. Never turn off
     the system during the setup processing.
     When the SDR setup is normally finished, the following message appears.

               SDR Update
               Normal End.
               A:¥>


(8)  Remove the floppy disk form the floppy disk drive.

(9)  Turn off the server by pressing the power button.

(10) Pull out the AC code from Express Server.

(11) Wait for over 5 seconds and then join the AC code to the server again.

(12) Wait for over 10 seconds and turn on the server by pressing the power 
     button.

(13) When "Press <F2> to enter SETUP" message is displayed, press the 
     <F2> key.

(14) Select [Server] - [System Management] from the BIOS SETUP utility.

(15) Confirm that SDR Revision is displayed as shown in "1.applicable models".


4. Notes

(1) The device boot order may have been changed depending on the machine's 
    operating environment. In this case, the boot sequence must be changed to 
    the order asshown below.

    1. CD-ROM
    2. Floppy disk drive

    Refer to the User's Guide for the procedure on changing the boot device 
    start order.

(2) If update tool does not start and following message appears:

               "Error, incorrect server platform found."


    This message will appear when the Updating data is going to apply to an
    inapplicable model. Please confirm Models informed.

(3) Please carry the maintenance parts with "SDR setup FD"
