Tokyo & London, March 4, 2013 - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) announced that four NEC researchers have been appointed as rapporteurs for the International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication Sector (ITU-T), in addition to a vice chairman appointed at the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA12) held in November 2012. The five researchers will work for the four year period from 2013 through 2016.

The ITU-T conducts development and standardization of Future Networks (FN) for telecommunications carriers and companies, as well as promotes architecture, services and signalling systems, including cloud systems, digital signage, and Software-defined Networking (SDN). At the first session of this term, the composition of each study group was confirmed with the approval of the questions and rapporteurs.
