Thermoelectric Devices

We are conducting research on spin thermoelectric devices that use a new principle (spin Seebeck effect) to generate electricity from the enormous amount of waste heat in society. By using the new principle, we aim to overcome the conversion efficiency limits of existing devices while realizing large-area devices at low production cost. Thus far, we have developed a spin thermoelectric device by means of a coating-based process and successfully demonstrated its thermoelectric conversion.
