The challenge of developing various applications that contributes to society by importing an enormous amount of data from the real world and using cloud computing in cyberspace is currently underway. Such a system that links the cyber world and the real world is called a cyber-physical system (CPS).
We believe that the nature of cyber-physical systems is to handle real-world data not yet in the cloud and create new "knowledge" from the collected big data and feed it back to the real world.
Knowledge Discovery Research Laboratories focus research and development activities on the following technical challenges:
- Engine technologies for generating knowledge from big data.
- Efficient development and operation technologies of applications on flexible networks.
We aim to create “an information society friendly to humans and the Earth” by overcoming the technical challenges on the way to developing CPSs.
