Backup volume dramatically decreases with the snapshot function

As you know, when the replication function (NEC Storage DynamicDataReplication) is used for creating backups, a replication of a logical disk is created within a chassis and therefore the volume necessary for creating backups is twice as high as the volume of the logical disk. Don't you find it hard to keep up with the costs?

Since the snapshot function creates backups of only update differentials, the volume required for creating backups is only 1.2 or 1.3 times as high as the logical disk volume. This allows creating backups of multiple generations, and it is thus possible to protect important data from logical data destruction such as mistakes by applications.

Meanwhile, although NEC Storage DynamicDataReplication requires a volume of twice as much as the volume of the logical disk, it allows multiple volumes to be used for various purposes such as backups or application testing without creating any impact on business operation data.

The best way is to select a backup method that is most suitable for each operation.
