Did you know that you have to purchase a physical disk with certain units of volume if you want to add capacity to a conventional storage unit?
For this purpose, NEC has developed a function called "Dynamic Pool."
The Dynamic Pool function manages all physical disks together in a "pool," and capacity can be expanded in units of device. This can reduce expansion costs.
Also, by using this function, it is possible to create new logical disks from this pool or to return unnecessary logical disks to the pool. Furthermore, if the capacity of a logical disk that is already in use runs out, necessary volume can be added to the logical disk from the pool.

All disks are managed in one "pool," and therefore it is not necessary to worry about individual physical disks. We can let the device handle everything. We can use what we need and return what we no longer need. Disk management has become easier.
Since everything is handled by the device when using the Dynamic Pool function, reliability is extremely important. Therefore, it is a good idea to use the device in combination with RAID-6 which has very high reliability.
