It is desirable to combine distributed call centers. Data exchange between NEC Main Frame and open systems is also desired.
For such problems, NEC Storage can offer solutions such as presented in this case example.
Problems prior to implementation
In integrating a number of call centers into east and west centers, solutions to the following problems are required:
- In the west center, the existing NEC Main Frame system has to communicate with the open servers to be newly equipped. For solving this problem, the NEC Storage S4000 system, equipped with data coordination functions between NEC Main Frame and open system servers, was selected.
- Data backup should be available for operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- The system should be so configured that the east and west centers can provide mutual backup functions in the future.
Solutions and effects
- In the west center, the existing NEC Main Frame system has to communicate with the open servers to be newly equipped. For solving this problem, the NEC Storage S4000 system, equipped with data coordination functions between NEC Main Frame and open system servers, was selected.
- Minimization of interruptions due to backup operations is required in order to satisfy the requirement of 24 hours a day, 365 days a year continuous operation. For satisfying this requirement, the system was so configured to use the NEC Storage DynamicDataReplication function of NEC Storage S4000 series systems.
- NEC Storage S4000 systems are selected and proposed, for future realization of mutual backup capability to use the NEC Storage RemoteDataReplication function.
