License

The following table provides general description of the EXPRESSCLUSTER license for informational purpose only. Please consult your regional NEC representative for actual product offering and ordering information.

Main product license.

One License required for each physical CPU. Required number of license is the sum of the total number of physical CPUs on each server in one cluster.

  • The required number of licenses is the sum of the number of physical CPUs in one cluster on which EXPRESSCLUSTER X is installed. (Not the number of cores, but the number of CPU socket, excluding free CPU socket).
  • CPUs in the standby machine should also be counted.
  • CPU license cannot be divided into multiple clusters.
  • For FT servers or virtual machines the CPU count will be the number of CPUs recognized by the operating system (Not count of cores or threads).

Optional products. One license is required for each server. *Also required for each standby servers.

 

*1. For mirroring type configuration additional Replicator license is also required.

*2. For hybrid disk* type configuration additional Replicator DR license is also required. (Hybrid disk type is a combination of shared disk type and mirror disk type i.e. mirroring the partitions on the shared disk.)
