1. Non-Disruptive failover
Applications can be moved to standby server without disruption during failure which can be recovered by live migration. Business availability is achieved to the maximum.
- Supports virtualization platform(*1) that supports live migration
- To be precise, in configuration of FC path redundancy and NIC redundancy, it detects that failure has occurred in the one of the path and become operative for live migration
(*1) VMware and Hyper-V. Also XenServer will be supported through updates.
Quick migration is performed in Hyper-V.
2. Faster Data Synchronization
More powerful FastSync™ function! Drastic reduction in total time required for initial construction/ overall construction of data mirroring by synchronization of only actual data.
- Data synchronization time was reduced to 1/30 for the initial construction. (In case actual data is not there.)
- Data synchronization time was reduced by 50% for the overall construction.
(Compared with previous version. In case actual data usage is 50% of the disk.)
(*) These are the results with using Express5800/120Rj-2. Mirroring performance depends on HW configuration.
3. Compression of Mirrored Data
3.0 enables efficient data transfer by compressing the data to be mirrored.(*1)
This function is convenient at the time of using narrow network for remote clustering.
- Average 50% reduction in data size as compared to the previous version. (*2)
(*1) This feature is only valid in asynchronous mirroring mode.
(*2) It is measured with mirror data assuming operation of file server. Results differ depending on file type. Used source CD of RHEL as mirroring data.
4. Drastic enhancement of GUI (WebManager/Builder)
WebManager and EXPRESSCLUSTER Builder are now integrated and can be accessed from single window, while they were separated in the previous version.
WebManager is improved for more intuitive management.
EXPRESSCLUSTER Builder is enhanced with usability. IP address and device name are automatically acquired just by entering server name. Since the IP's are auto detected, the chances of typo errors is now removed.
