Apart from shared data storage and data mirroring, EXPRESSCLUSTER also enables Hybrid Clustering with hybrid data sharing method.
Using this method, data in a shared disk can be mirrored on to another shared or normal disk across LAN or WAN environment. Hybrid data sharing enables flexibility in designing an integrated High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solution.

EXPRESSCLUSTER provides both synchronous and asynchronous data mirroring methods. Organizations can opt for any configuration to optimize performance and data protection.
Synchronous data mirroring is beneficial if the volume and frequency of data write is low. If an application writes huge amount of data frequently, asynchronous data mirroring should be used to optimize performance.
If mirroring across locations is required, as in case of a Disaster Recovery (DR) solution, asynchronous option should be used to avoid application performance degradation due to mirroring.
EXPRESSCLUSTER supports multiple virtualization environments like VMware, Microsoft's Hyper-V and Xen.
EXPRESSCLUSTER can cluster both host OS and guest OS. It is capable of detecting application, OS, hardware and network failures at both host and guest OS levels.
It can be configured to failover specific applications from one virtual machine (VM) to another VM / physical machine (PM) in case of guest OS level failure and full VM failover in case of host OS level failure.

EXPRESSCLUSTER supports multiple techniques to reduce power consumption, such as decreasing CPU clock (up to 20% savings), server consolidation and virtualization. EXPRESSCLUSTER enables to cluster both host OS and guest OS.
