You must change BIOS setting for SATA HDDs to be recognized.
Push F2 key during POST and enter BIOS setup menu. In 'Advanced' menu, select 'Peripheral Configuration', and set as follows.

Update following dirivers with a driver disk.
- Get the driver package FreeBSD6.3-100000001.tar.gz from PROMISE TECHNOLOGY,INC
- Make a driver diskette and install drivers as directed by readme.txt. You should take /dev/fd0 as /dev/da1 in readme.txt.
