You need a driver update diskette. Get it from Promise(R) site, "ST EX Series SuSE SLES 10 32 bit driver" ( 6_SuperTrak-EX-Series-suse-sles10-i386-2.9.0.16.tgz ). See readme file for the usage.
During installation when using CD1, the system will reboot automatically and upon reboot the system will stops at $ prompt.(*2)
- Push DC bottom for reboot
- Upon reboot, when you select "Boot from Hard disk", hit Esc key. This will take you to non-graphical mode.
- Hit "e" key for edit. Move to second line and hit "e" again. In this line change all strings "/dev/sdb" to "/dev/sda", and hit Enter to exit edit mode.
- After this hit "b" for boot. The above changes are effective only for this boot.
- If you see "press enter for login:" hit Enter for login. After this mount the partition that contains /etc/fstab and edit fstab.
In fstab change strings /dev/sdb to /dev/sda at all places. Then restart the Operation System.- Now the boot is successful. Once installation is complete system comes up and you edit /boot/grub/menu.lst.
In /boot/grub/menu.lst change /dev/sdb entries to /dev/sda at all places.
You need a driver update diskette. Get it from LSI(R) site, "SLES10 3.13-1 02-OCT-07" ( SLES10-ga-al3.13-1.zip ). See readme file for the usage.
